CSC SHOOTING TEAM NAMED 3RD HIGH SKEET TEAM AT FT. HAYS INVITATIONAL
On September 19-20th the shooting team traveled to Hays, KS to compete in the invitational shoot hosted by the Ft. Hays shooting team each year. Despite the howling wind the team managed to take 3rd place in skeet for the shoot. Tyler Fletcher also finished second in the 5-stand competition.
CSC SHOOTING TEAM ON THE MAP
On October 2nd Connors Shooting Team headed out to Pacific, MO to compete in the Central Midwest Conference Championship. The junior college shot against some of the largest schools in the country like Lindenwood University, and brought home 1st in sporting clays, 2nd in trap, 3rd in skeet, high overall female, and forth place team. Miranda Harshbarger from Pawnee, OK was the star shooter for the Connors team taking 4 of the 5 awards listed above.
CSC SHOOTING TEAM TAKES PRIZE IN TILLAR, AR
The Connors State College Shooters traveled to south eastern Arkansas for the first time to shoot in the Super Shoot at the Delta Resort and Spa. This was the first college shoot at the brand new facility. Tyler Fletcher of Stilwell, OK walked away with a 3rd place after the sporting clay competition and a shoot off and also 4th high individual in American Skeet. Mason Dobbs of Eufaula, OK earned a 7th place in American Trap. The team earned 3rd in the high overall completion. This competition is a combination of all shooting disciplines.
NEXT STOP SAN ANTONIO, TX
The hot Texas sun keeps the end of the barrel hot with many rounds being shot as the team competed at the National Shooting Complex. Miranda Harshbarger of Pawnee, OK busted 96/100 targets earning her a 2nd place in the trap shooting competition, 3rd in American Skeet, and forth high overall female at the competition. Danny Phillips of Stilwell, OK and Reece Harvey of Hydro, OK earned 6th and 7th respectively, in the men’s trap shooting. The team took 4th place in the high overall award.
SAN ANTONIO-ROUND TWO!
Connors State Shooting Team attended the National College Shoot in San Antonio, TX March 31st-April 3rd at the National Shooting Complex. The National Shooting Complex is one of the premier shooting facilities in the world, spanning 671 acres. Tyler Fletcher of Stilwell, OK made a shoot off competition in trap breaking 99/100 targets. Miranda Harshbarger of Pawnee, OK was in the female shoot offs breaking 98/100 targets. The team took 7th place out of 49 in division 3 trap. Harshbarger has signed with Fort Hays State University Shooting Team and will attend class there this fall.
SHOOTING TEAM EARNS ACADEMIC HONORS
The CSC Shooting Team has won the prestigious honor of winning BOTH the attendance award (92%) and the GPA award (3.1) given by the Division of Agriculture at Connors State College. This award included numbers from every member of the team. This was the first time the awards were given and a plaque will be hung in the Division of Agriculture’s Office. This is an award earned by the shooter’s hard work in the classroom and should serve as evidence to the amount of hard work and determination the shooters have exerted.
