SHREVEPORT, La.–Ra’Shawn Langston’s 3-point shot at the buzzer missed the mark and the Connors Cowboys fell to Southern Shreveport 68-66 Saturday on the Jaguars home floor.
Connors (10-2) returns home Tuesday to play Arkansas Baptist at Melvin Self Field House. Tip-off is 7 p.m.
Cowboys never led in the game, trailing by 14 points with 8:00 left in the contest to battle back, behind Zaph Bobb, who led the Connors scoring with 20 points. Bobb’s scoring was a career high as a Cowboy, stopping his previous mark of 18 against NEO last season.
“We just didn’t play very well,” said Cowboys coach Bill Muse. “They out hustled us, out rebounded us and played harder than us. As a result they won the game,” said Muse.
The Jaguars led 34-27 at the half with Lyntravious Gipson leading the attack with20 points. Dayton Artis followed with 16 points.
