WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS–Connors Cowgirls closed out the first half of the season with a 74-68 loss to Cisco College Friday night on the road.
The Cowgirls (8-6) trailed 23-17 after the first quarter and battled back to tie and take the lead midway the third quarter. However, fatigue took over in the fourth quarter.
“We started pretty slow but came back (trailed 42-27 at the half) to get back into the game in the third quarter,” said head coach Jamie Fisher. “We just ran out of gas in the fourth period.”
Three Cowgirls scored in double figures led by Tierra Jones’ 16 points, followed by DeAuja Thompson with 15 and Saide Carter added 11 more.
Keviona Barber led the Wranglers with 24 points, with Rebecca Farmer and Alexis Jones scoring 15 and 13 respectively.
