SEMINOLE—Connors Cowboys split an Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader with Seminole State on Saturday, losing the opener 6-3, before taking the nightcap 11-3.
The split gives the No. 10 ranked Cowboys a 33-5 overall record and 14-4 mark in the OCAC. Cowboys will take on Carl Albert on Monday in a single game at 6 p.m.
In the opener Connors' Carson Johnson was 1-for-4 at the plate with an RBI, while Tony Hrynkiw went 1-3 with two RBIs.
Ryan Czanstkowski (7-2) took the loss, going six innings, allowing six hits, four earned and a home run.
In the second game, Brandon Goldstone (5-0) took the win on the hill, striking out seven in seven innings. Keith Tralor picked up this third save of the year.
Carson Johnson went 2-for-6 at the plate, with an RBI, while Denis Ozuna was a perfect 5-for-5 with an RBI, scoring four times, with two doubles.
Colton Burgess had two RBIs on a 1-for-5 performance at the plate which included a home run.
Jake Womack knocked out two doubles in four trips to the plate for two RBIs, while Dearian Luper was 1-for-4 with an RBI double and George Bell, had an RBI double and two base hits in four trips at the plate.
