Cowboys Sweep Rose State to Tie Seminole for OCAC Title

WARNER—Connors State Cowboys swept Rose State 12-11 and 11-1 in their season finale to tie Seminole State for the Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference baseball title.

Connors and Seminole will have a coing flip Mondahy for the top seed in the Region II Tournament which begins in Woodward on Thursday.

The 8th-ranked Cowboys improved to 47-7 in the win and finished atop the OCAC with Seminole State at 24-6.

In game one Luis Pelayo's two run double, his fourth of the game gave Connors the win in the opener.

Carson Johnson and Pelayo each had four hits and Tony Hrynkiw had three.

Ty Callahan (7-1) worked four relief innings for the win, giving up five hits while striking out four.

In the nightcap Brandon Goldston (7-0) threw six inning complete game, allowing four hits and striking out five to get the win.

Johnson, Pelayo, Jake Northern, George Bell and Darian Luper each had two hits.
