Eastern State Eliminates Cowboys from Region II Baseball Tournament with 26-13 Victory

WOODWARD—Eastern State  pounded out 28  base hits  en route to a 26-13 victory over Connors State an oust the No. 4-ranked  Cowboys from the Region II Baseball Tournament at Crystal Beach Field Saturday night.

The Cowboys conclude the 2018 season with a 49-9 record. Connors fell into the losers' bracket following a 9-8 loss to top seed Seminole earlier in the day Saturday. Eastern (44-16) and Seminole State (40-100 will battle for the Region II championship Sunday and the right to host the Southwest Regional next week.

Colton Burgess led the Cowboys hitting with three base hits including a home run, along with Andres Gonzalez, Luis Pelayo and Braden Callico.
