SEMINOLE—Connors State dominated host Seminole State on both ends of the floor Monday night on the Trojans home floor, streaking to a convincing 76-60 Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference victory.
Led by the double-figure scoring of Jordan Graham (18), Tyrees Sidberry (18) and Callen Haydon (15), the Cowboys improved to 17-4 on the year and 6-2 in OCAC play as they look ahead to a home contest Thursday at Melvin Self Field House against Northern Oklahoma-Enid. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m.
The Cowboys held a 46-29 half time advantage before cruising to a 24-point margin twice, the last 67-43 with 11-minutes remaining. Seminole never lead in the game as Sidberry scored the opening basket and the Cowboys never looked back in the rear view mirror.
"I thought we played really well," said Cowboys head coach Bill Muse. "We rebounded the ball very well.
"We had to eliminate some 3-point baskets by them, because they can shoot it pretty good, especially at home. We came out with good effort from the start. We started the game off by playing at a high level. We have let some games like that slip away, but tonight we were consistent all the way."
The Trojans, who are now 15-5 and 5-3, came no closer than the final outcome of 16 points.
Dominque Primer led the Trojans with 12 points followed by Ben Jenkins with 11 points.
Muse was once again pleased with the play of Daylon Tanksley, saying "He once again played very well coming off the bench."
Muse also praised the play of Sidberry "who has did a great job the past two games and plays extremely hard," adding "They all played extremely hard tonight."
