LITTLE ROCK—Connors State blitzed host Arkansas Baptist in the first half for a 54-25 advantage and then cruised to a 100-69 Region II victory Thursday night.
It was the unbeaten (4-0) Cowboys second consecutive game to hit the century mark in scoring.
"I am pleased where we are right now," said Coach Bill Muse. "We had a difficult start to our schedule playing three of the four games in the state of Arkansas.
"I believe we have improved each game. We had a big lead at the half and it's hard to build on that when you have that big of a lead.
"You just want to maintain your lead," said Muse. "This game gave me an opportunity to play a lot of players and gain more experience."
After the first half barrage it was no contest the final 20 minutes of play.
Cowboys will next take on Oklahoma Wesleyan University Junior Varsity Monday on the Bartlesville school's home floor. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m.
Connors was 27-of-36 at the free throw line and drained eight shots from behind the arc, including five by Haydon.
Muse praised this club's first half defensive play against the Buffaloes, adding "We got a little sloppy in the second half."
