SHREVEPORT, La. –Connors State's 13-game winning streak came to an abrupt end Saturday in Louisiana when Southern University-Shreveport shocked the Cowboys 76-75 Saturday.

"We had our chance to win in the final minute of play, but we turned the ball over, "said Cowboys' Coach Bill Muse.

"That was the difference in the game…our turnovers and them controlling the rebounding. We didn't rebound very well at all in the game. We failed to block out on a free throw late to get a rebound, then we had the turnover  with five seconds left, which would have given us the opportunity either tie the game or win it. "

Three Cowboys scored in double figures with freshman Jarquavious Cain leading the way with19 points. Caleb Riggs finished with 15 along with point-guard Callen Haydon.

Ranked 21st in the NJCAA, the Cowboys return home with a 13-1 mark to play Arkansas Baptist College Monday night at Melvin Self Field House. Tip-off is 7 p.m.

In their first meeting the Cowboys took a 100-69 victory in Little Rock on November 7th. Connors closes out the first semester play on the road Thursday night (Dec. 11th) against Mid-American Christian University Junior Varsity in Oklahoma City.

Christavious Thomas led Southern-Shreveport's scoring with 26, with Collins Tucker and Desmond Vaughn scoring 16 and 14 points respectively.

Cowboys held a one-point lead at the half, 40-39, but was unable to break away in the final 20 minutes of play, as they missed several opportunities to take the lead in the final minute.
