Cowboys Fall to NOC-Enid 69-67 in league Action



ENID---The month of January as not been kind to the Connors State Cowboys.

Thursday night the Northern Oklahoma Enid Jets flew past the Cowboys 69-67 to hand CSC its fourth consecutive loss.

The Cowboys now stand 15-5 overall, but drop to 2-4 in Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Connors now looks ahead to next Thursday when they return home to play Redlands Community College at Melvin Self Field House.

"This program hasn't gone through this," said Coach Bill Muse. "I can't remember the last time this has happened. We have won the conference five of the last six years.

"Now all of a sudden we have gone from first to last," said Muse.

Muse said "we just make losing plays at the wrong time."

The Cowboys were up five points 52-57 with 7:30 remaining on a trey by Isaiah Francis, who finished with 19 points, leading the Cowboys' scoring.

The game was knotted at 63-all with 2:10 showing on the clock when Jahcoree Ealy, who finished with 14 points, made it 65-63 at the 1:20 mark.

Enid then took a four-point lead on a trey and pair of Enid as the Cowboys managed only a pair of free throws by Francis the rest of way.

Caleb Riggs, Daylon Tanksley; and Jordan Graham finished with 10 points each in the loss.
