Warner- The Connors State College Cowboys opened the 2021-2022 Season ion style with a 87-62 victory over Southwestern Christian University inside Melvin Self Field-House. Jahcoree Ealy, DJ Basey, Marquel Sutton, and Xaxier Brown, combined to score 59 of the 87 points that the Cowboys scored on Monday November 1st. The Cowboys blew the game open late in the first half, and extended the lead to 20 5 minutes into the second half.

The Cowboys start out the year 1-0 while the Eagles fell to 0-1.

Jahcoree Ealy led four Cowboys in double figures with 22 points, and 3 assists. University of Central Oklahoma transfer DJ Basey added 17 points and 7 Rebounds, while Marquel Sutton recorded his first Double Double in a Cowboy uniform with 10 Points and 10 Rebounds. Xavier Brown scored 10 points off the bench for the Cowboys.

Connors State shot 52 percent from the field and 42 percent from 3-point range.

The Cowboys out rebounded the eagles by Nine with a 39-30 advantage on to Boards.

The Cowboys host Central Baptist College on Tuesday night November 2nd with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m. inside Melvin Self Field-House for game 2 of the 3 game homestand to start the year.
