
Warner- The Connors State Cowboys had little trouble with visiting Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles on Wednesday Night inside Melvin Self field-House. The cowboys came away with a 109-69 victory improving their record to 6-0 on the year.
The cowboys held a commanding 52-31 lead at the Half and expanded their lead early in the second half. The cowboys controlled the game from start to finish by opening the game on a 25 to 8 run in the first 10 minutes of the game. The eagles would then make a run of their own to cut the Cowboy lead to 10, but Connors answered right back witha run of their own.
The Cowboys had 6 players score in double figures on the night. Leading the scoring attack for the Cowboys was Freshman Guard Xavier Glenn who poured in 19 points. Following Glenn was Jordan Tillmon with 18. Marquel Sutton Recorded another Double Double for the Cpwboys scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Mason Alexander had 14 points off the bench. Making his first start in a Cowboy Uniform, Greg Johnson poured in 11 for the Cowboys. UCO Transfer DJ Basey added 11 points on the Night.
11 of the 12 Cowboys got into the scoring collum on the night.
The cowboys shot 54 percent from the field, and 56 percet from the 3 point line in the victory.
Connors out rebounded the Eagles by 21 on the night with the final rebound numbers being 46-21.
Connors will now turn its attention to Paris (Texas) Junior College on Saturday inside Melvin Self Field-House. The Cowboys are looking to sweep the Dragons as Connors won down in Texas last Saturday by the score of 71-65. Saturday will also be former players day on the warer campus, where all former basketball players in attendence will be recognized at halftime.
