Cowboys Hold Off Late Western Rally for Road Win

Altus- Connors State rode second-half charges to a road win at Western on Monday Night inside Pioneer Gym. The Cowboys up 6 at the half, had to hold off a furious Western comeback in the final minutes to came away with a 93-92 win on Monday in Altus.

The Cowboys (22-5, 9-5 OCAC) a majority of the game and increased there lead to 17 points with about 12 minutes to play only to see Western come back and tie the game with about 4 minuytes left in the game and eventually take a 2 point lead with 3 minutes to go in regulation. Connors would tie the game on the next possession. Xavier Glenn hit two free throws with :04 left to seal it for the Cowboys. Western had one final chance to win the game, but the shot was off the mark and the Cowboys survive on the Road in OCAC Action.

Mason Alexander led four Cowboys in double figures with 22 points. Xavier Glenn had. Jhamyl Fricas had 18, and Bradyn Hubbard had 12. Muskogee Graduate Xavier Brown came off the bench to pour in 8 points. Donyae May also had 8 points on the night, and Tamaury Releford contribuated 4 points in the victory. 
 
The Cowboys shot 46 percent from the field, and 50 percent from the Three Point Range.
 
The Cowboys are back on the Road on Thursday Night at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M (NEO) in the A&M Rivalry Game. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30pm in Miami, Oklahoma.
