Cowgirls Drop Bacone College 65-48 for Fifth Straight Victory

MUSKOGEE –Connors State women posted its fifth consecutive victory with a 65-48 win over Bacone College Junior Varsity Monday at the Civic Center.

Cowgirls Coach Jamie Fisher said his club "just went through the motions" in getting its victory.

"We didn't come out with a lot of energy, but they played zone against us and pressed some, so that gets us ready for Thursday."

Connors (8-1) will open Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference play Thursday in Altus against Western Oklahoma State College. The Pioneers according to Fisher play a zone defense the entire game.

Cowgirls held a 22 point lead twice in the contest before the Warriors made a run at Connors to slice the lead to 12 points, 48-36 in the third period.

Connors led 25-17 at the half and 51-36 at the end of three quarters.

Zee McAllister led the Cowgirls scoring with 13 followed by Tateum Jones with 12 and Caylin Livers added 11 more.
