WARNER— Four former Connors State Cowgirls have signed national letters of intent to continue their academic and basketball careers on the next level announced CSC coach Jamie Fisher.
Following graduation and moving on are De'Asias Reid to Bethune Cookman, a NCAA Division I school in Jacksonville, Fla.; Lauren and Kailen Wright to Ouachita Baptist University a NCAA Division II school in Arkadelphia, Ark.; and Tatum Jones, Panhandle State University, a NAIA school in Goodwell, Okla.
"Today is an exciting day for the Cowgirl program with 4 out of the 5 sophomores moving onto to receive a basketball scholarship from a university," said Fisher.
"This sophomore class had exceptional leaders and helped elevate the program to another level again. This class will be severely missed.
"I am excited for the girls to move on and play at the next level. They all worked very hard and well deserve for an opportunity to compete at the next level."
Reid, who averaged 14.5 points to lead the Cowgirls in scoring, also had offers from Chicago State, University Missouri- Kansas City and Tennessee State.
Jones averaged 5.1 points a game, also had a scholarship offer from Midland University.
