Cowgirls Ready to Build on Momentum in 2025-26 Season
After finishing 4th in the OCAC during the 2024-25 season, the Connors State Cowgirls have been picked 5th in the preseason conference poll. But don't expect this group to settle — the Cowgirls are once again looking to exceed expectations and make noise in the upcoming year.
Coming off a 13-18 campaign, Head Coach Jaylen Thompson enters his second season at the helm with a stronger understanding of junior college basketball and OCAC competition. With that experience, Thompson has retooled the roster and added nine talented freshmen who bring energy, size, and depth to the lineup.
Returning to lead the charge is Kiaya Davis, who earned OCAC Freshman of the Year honors last season as well as All-Region team and Honorable Mention all-American.She lead the nation in scoring with 22.8PPG. Davis's leadership and experience will be crucial as the Cowgirls integrate their new faces and look to climb the conference standings. Aaliyah Scott, Brooklyn Austin and Alexis Fowler all return as sophomores and as freshman shared the starting role on several nights
"This year's team is young but will be very talented," said Coach Thompson. "Our freshmen are hungry, and our returners know what it takes to compete in this league. We're excited to get going.
