Cowboys Defeat Redlands 7-2
Connors State Cowboys were victorious against Redlands CC 7-2 on Tuesday. Redlands CC opened the scoring in the first after an error scored one run. Connors State Cowboys jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Seojin Kim singled to center field, and Maddox Edwards stole home, each scoring one run. Everett homered to left field, which helped Redlands CC tie the game at two in the top of the fifth. In the bottom of the fifth, Connors State Cowboys broke up the tie when Edwards singled, scoring one run. Then a sacrifice fly by Kim followed to extend the lead to 4-2. Jaxon Lee stepped on the bump first for Connors State Cowboys. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and one run (zero earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking two. Pearrow opened the game for Redlands CC. The starting pitcher surrendered two hits and two runs over three innings, striking out one and walking three. Joan Contreras pitched one inning of no-run ball for Connors State Cowboys in relief. The reliever surrendered zero hits, striking out two and walking none. Kim provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Connors State Cowboys with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Edwards went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Connors State Cowboys in hits. Brooks Hasenclever led Connors State Cowboys with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Connors State Cowboys stole three bases in the game.
