Connors State Cowboys Fall To Seminole State Trojans After Late Score
Saturday's game against Seminole State Trojans was a heartbreaker for Connors State Cowboys, as they lost the lead late in a 7-5 defeat. The game was tied at five in the bottom of the fifth when Restine singled, scoring two runs. Connors State Cowboys got on the board in the first inning after Tebeck homered to left field, scoring three runs. Seminole State Trojans captured the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the second after Restine singled to center field, and Jones homered to right field, each scoring two runs. Brooks Hasenclever homered to center field, which helped Connors State Cowboys tie the game at four in the top of the third. Seminole State Trojans took the lead in the bottom of the third. Restine singled, scoring one run, to give Seminole State Trojans the edge, 5-4. Landon Holzhauer homered to right field, which helped Connors State Cowboys tie the game at five in the top of the fifth. Cade Cometti pitched three and one-third innings in relief for Connors State Cowboys. The righty gave up five hits and three runs (two earned) while, striking out five and walking two. Jaxon Lee started on the bump for Connors State Cowboys. The starter surrendered four hits and four runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking none.
