Connors State Cowboys Walk It Off Against Seminole State Trojans
Connors State Cowboys took Saturday's game in dramatic fashion, with an 8-7 walk-off victory over Seminole State Trojans. The game was tied at seven in the bottom of the seventh when Beeler singled, scoring one run. Both offenses were strong at the plate as Connors State Cowboys collected 10 hits and Seminole State Trojans nine in the high-scoring affair. Seminole State Trojans jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Russell singled, scoring one run, and Medina induced Harpole to hit into a fielder's choice, but two runs scored. Seminole State Trojans extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI singles by Humbles and Restine. Connors State Cowboys made the score 5-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning when Beeler grounded out, scoring one run, and Gallo hit a solo home run to right field. Connors State Cowboys flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the seventh, scoring six runs on five hits to take the lead, 8-7. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Tebeck that drove in two. Contreras pitched three and one-third innings in relief for Connors State Cowboys. The right-handed pitcher allowed four hits and two runs (one earned) while, striking out one and walking five. Medina stepped on the hill first for Connors State Cowboys. The starter surrendered five hits and five runs over three innings, striking out one and walking four. Hudspeth stepped on the hill first for Seminole State Trojans. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and two runs over five innings, striking out two and walking one. Connors State Cowboys accumulated 10 hits in the game. Tebeck and Beeler were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Connors State Cowboys. Connors State Cowboys turned one double play in the game.
