Cowboys Rout Redlands CC in Region 2 Quarterfinals

Muskogee, OK- The expressions on the faces of Connors coach Bill Muse and his son Bill Jr. were much different Thursday.
This time last year they were upset in the opening round of the National Junior College Athletic Association Region II tournament at Muskogee's Rougher Village.
It was all smiles for the coaching duo as freshman Khamani Cooper knocked down three 3's in the first five minutes to jump start the Cowboys to a 107-67 rout of Redlands in this year's opening round.
"It was a nice win as we got to have our reserves see a lot of playing time and give our starters some rest because we'll have a tough second round game against Eastern who we've played close twice already," said the elder Muse.
"I thought we shot the ball well early, and our defense was really good," said Muse "We knew that (Deazhon) Perkins hurt us in our previous two games and Cooper did a good job of guarding him. He averaged 26 points in our previous two games and tonight we held him to 12."
Connors Return to Tournament on Friday Night at 6:00pm against Eastern Oklahoma State College inside Rougher Village on the campus of Muskogee High School.
