Cowgirls Add 5 to Early Signing Class
Head Cowgirl Basketball Coach Jamie Fisher announced 5 new signees to the 2022-2023 recruiting class this past weekend signing 4 Oklahoma players and 1 Arkansas player. 5 Cowgirl Signees are Kylie Eubanks (Keys, OK), Haitiana "Yoni" Releford (Fort Smith, AR), Sammantha Shanks (Webbers Falls, OK), Kayley Turner (Howe,OK), Racheal Watie (Roland, OK).
"I feel like we need to go out and add some good talent early to our signing class from winning programs, and we did exactly that," said Head Coach Jamie Fisher. "We hit the trifecta early with this group of early signees not only are the talented and great role models, but they all come from winning programs, who have played in the state tournament in their high school career."
Kylie Eubanks 5'9 guard (Stillwell, OK/Keys HS)
Kylie helped lead her team to the state tournament this past season averaging 19 points and 8 assist a game along with being named to OGBCA All-State, OCA All State, Indian All State and two time All Conference MVP and VYPE top 50 Player.
"Kylie is highly decorated scoring guard that can come in and contribute immediatly. She can score the ball on all three levels and defend and rebound her position well. We are very excited to add Kylie to our program." said Fisher
Haitiana "Yoni" Reledord 5'10 guard (Fort Smith, AR/Northside HS)
Releford has helped lead her team to three state championship game winning the 2021 6A State Championship. Releford averaged 18 points and 11 rebounds a game for NLB and legendary coach Ricky Smith. Haitiana was named one of the top 5 seniors in state of Arkansas along with 2x All Confernece, All State Team, Arkansas All Star Team, and Tournament of Champions MVP.
"Yoni is a big scoring guard who can finish really well with contact, and a tough mis-match for opponents. Yoni is extremely strong athlete who can score with ease and can rebound and defend her position well." "We look for Yoni to step in and make an immediate impact not only in scoring the basketball, but with her ability to control the glass and her winning attitude."said Fisher
Sammantha Shanks 5'8 combo guard (Webbers Falls, OK/Webbers Falls HS)
Sammanatha averaged 17 points 9 assist and 8 rebounds at Webbers Falls and is a local player who helped lead her team to a state tournament run in high school advacning to the 2021 state tournament. Shanks has been named to the OGBCA All-State, OCA All State, VYPE Magazine top 50 players along with being named Muskogee All Phoenix Player of the Year in 2021 & 2022.
"Sammantha is a combo guard who can score on all 3 levels and has extremely good court vision who makes hard plays look easy." Sammantha is a player who flew under the radar who we look to come in contribute and compete for major minutes with her ability to score and distribute the basketball." said Fisher
Kayley Turner 6'0 post (Poteau, OK/Howe HS)
Kayley is coming from a championship prgoram at Howe High School playing for legendary coach Chris Brown where she averaged 7 points and 8 rebounds. Kayley is a 4 time state tournament qualifier winning two state chamipnships and finishing runner-up in another. The Lady Lions won the 2019 & 2021 State Championship and finishing State Runner-up this past season.
"Kayley is a strong physical post player who can finish well with contact. She will add some much need depth at the post position for us, and really help our inside/out game with her ability to score and kick it out to the open player." Kayley was also on a very talented team who had alot of talent so she wasn't always the go to player which makes her fly under the radar and will be a tremendous asset to our program." said Fisher
Racheal Watie 5'6 guard (Roland,OK/Roland HS)
Watie is a scoring guard that averaged 15 points per game this past season, and helped lead the Lady Rangers to the 2021 3A State Championship game. Watie was recently named to VYPE top 50 players in Oklahoma, OGBCA All State Team, and 2x All Conference Team, and All State by Class Team.
"Racheal is a scoring guard who has been part of a winning program and will provide depth for our guard play. She can get to the rim and shoot the 3 which will help our ability to score the basketball." said Fisher
